Prepare yourself for the unexpected with this fun and hands-on introduction to wilderness first aid, taught over two days. It is specially made for the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures. This course is delivered in Kaeng Krachan (about 2.30 hours from Bangkok in the Petchaburi province) by professionals (American Heart Association and former military – French Foreign Legion) with significant medical and hostile environment experience.
For companies / team building or individuals who would like to learn how to survive and respond to medical emergencies in the wild or remote areas. Group booking minimum 5 participants.
Course duration: 2 training days. Wilderness First Aid Thailand.
Course structure: Students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations in the wilderness (jungle). Students work with an American Heart Association Instructor and former military (French Foreign Legion) to complete skills practice.
Pedagogic tools: participant manual.
Certification: Participants will be given a First Aid CPR AED (International certificate from American Heart Association or local certificate from Bangkok First Aid) and a Wilderness Survival course completion card after successful completion of training, and valid for 2 years.

08:15-08:45_ PRESENTATION & INTRODUCTION of the 2 days course_ Camp 1 – Classroom
08:45-10:45_ CPR & AED_ Camp 1 – Classroom
10:45-11:30_ PREPARING MISSION_ Camp 1 – Classroom_Geolocation (paper maps, Google earth, Google maps, GPS, smart phone applications), Local Wildlife – Jungle South East of Asia (internet), Weather forecast (internet), Health – Personal Health Check (preexisting medical conditions, allergies, medications)
11:30-12:15_ PREPARING MISSION_ Camp 1 – Hut

12:15-13:00_ LUNCH and PERSONAL PREPARATION_ Camp 1
Shopping, bags preparation and checks before moving to Camp 2
13:00-14:00_ MOVEMENT TO CAMP 2 in the jungle_ from Camp 1 to Camp 2
1 hour hiking in the jungle
Navigation (Sun at noon, watch with arrows, wooden stick)

Spotting and beaconing of the camp before sunset with light sticks (limits)
Selection (geolocation, topography, landscape) and organization of a camp (fireplace, living area, latrines)
Snares – Set several snares before the night around the camp
Snake bites management, Insect bites management (mosquitos, bees, spiders, scorpions) + anaphylactic shock

Take a bearing with a compass in the jungle and find a treasure located about 100 – 200 meters straight (2 or 3 groups)
09:30-11:00_ CASUALTY TRANSPORTATION_ Camp 2
Spinal injury management
Splints for dislocations and fractures
Slings for broken arms
Transportation by stretcher – transportation of the casualty on an improvised stretcher for 100 – 200 meters
11:00-11:15_ Clear away the camps, cleaning, reconditioning
11:15-12:15_ MOVEMENT TO CAMP 1 – 1 hour hiking
12:15-15:00_ RECONDITIONING, LUNCH & CEREMONY

Diploma ceremony and conclusion of the course
